Our Mission

Bridging the digital divide, one institution at a time

Many schools and clinics across Malawi operate without a functioning website, proper record-keeping software, or reliable network infrastructure — not because they don't need it, but because they simply cannot afford it.

Techie Link's Community Technology Grant Program was created to fix this. We set aside a portion of our annual revenue, cloud server capacity, and engineering hours specifically to serve institutions that are doing vital work in communities but lack the digital tools to do it efficiently.

From a rural health centre that needs patient management software, to a community school that needs a registration system — we are here to help, at zero cost.

Eligibility

Who can apply for the grant?

The program is open to non-commercial institutions across Malawi that serve their local communities directly.

Educational Institutions

Primary schools, secondary schools, vocational colleges, and community literacy programmes seeking school management software, websites, or student record systems.

Healthcare Providers

Government clinics, mission hospitals, community health posts, and rural health centres that need patient management systems, website presence, or networking infrastructure.

NGOs & Community Groups

Registered non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, and verified community assistance groups working to uplift underserved populations.

A professionally designed, mobile-responsive website with 12 months free hosting, free SSL certificate, and a registered domain name — delivered and maintained by our team.

School Management Software

Full student enrolment, attendance tracking, fee management, exam records, and parent notification — deployed as a cloud-based system your staff can access from any device.

Clinical Record Management System

Digital patient registration, consultation records, prescription tracking, and appointment scheduling — built for Malawian clinic workflows and accessible offline-first where needed.

IT Infrastructure & Networking

Physical network cabling, Wi-Fi setup, and basic server configuration for qualified institutions — installed on-site by our certified field engineers at no labour cost.

Ongoing Security Monitoring

Quarterly security audits, automatic software updates, firewall configuration, and access to our helpdesk for the first year post-deployment — all included at no cost.

Staff Training & Handover

On-site or virtual training sessions for your staff, comprehensive user documentation in plain language, and a dedicated support contact for the first 90 days of use.

Our evaluation board reviews your application within 3 business days and may follow up for any clarification or additional documents.

Approval & Planning

Approved applicants receive a formal confirmation and are assigned a Techie Link project lead who schedules your delivery timeline.

Deployment & Handover

Our engineers build, test, and deploy your system. Staff training is conducted and your organisation goes live on its new technology.

Before you apply

This program is designed for institutions that genuinely cannot afford commercial technology services. We ask that applicants be honest about their situation — our board evaluates community need, not just technical requirements.

All grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis subject to our quarterly allocation limits. Applying early in the quarter improves your chances.

  • No registration fees, hidden charges, or contracts required
  • All services remain free for a minimum of 12 months post-deployment
  • You retain full ownership of your data and content at all times
  • Applications from rural and underserved areas are given priority
  • Unsuccessful applicants are notified and encouraged to reapply next quarter
